Abandoned Boat Galley gets a BIG UPGRADE

In this week's episode of our liveaboard boat restoration project, we're transforming our neglected sailboat galley into a sleek, modern kitchen. To access hard-to-reach areas, we removed the furniture from the boat for necessary modifications and exciting upgrades.

Our journey began with customizing the nook for our gimbal induction stovetop, where we installed a mockup of the countertop and devised a plan for the cabinet door. We faced a crucial decision: opt for a simple solution or create a custom slide for convenient storage. After much deliberation, we decided to take on the challenge of crafting a custom slide using creative solutions and spare index plungers we had on hand. Through trial and error, we successfully engineered our own DIY hidden cabinet door hinge, achieving results that exceeded our expectations.

Next on the agenda was the installation of our much-needed sink manual foot pump, along with intricate LED lighting details to enhance the aesthetics of our galley cabinets. With precision, we embedded our brand-new sink, marking the completion of our efforts in creating a modern and functional boat kitchen.
