DIY Sailboat Head Build (PART 2)

We're knee-deep in our DIY project, crafting the head for our sailboat. This week, we reached a pivotal juncture as we took on the installation of the bulkheads, fortifying these integral structural elements that encircle the head.

As we confronted the most demanding phase of our boat restoration project – the head build – we encountered unforeseen challenges that required our immediate attention before we could advance. One significant issue was the incomplete installation of several bulkheads, rendering them out of plumb and impeding our progress. Simultaneously, we identified a spatial conflict with the staircase, encroaching on the head's area and pushing one of the bulkheads inward, causing misalignment with the companionway hatch.

While addressing the latter issue was relatively straightforward, the bulkheads posed a more substantial challenge. Despite the hard work involved, this experience has been an incredible learning journey for us. We faced these challenges head-on with unwavering confidence, and we're absolutely thrilled with the results.
